About this site
This site supports the teaching of statistics, particularly when using the text Primer of Applied Regression and Analysis of Variance, 2nd edition, written by Stanton A. Glantz and Bryan K. Slinker, which was published in 2001 by McGraw-Hill. This site provides downloads of data files and software control files and macros. Also, errors discovered between printings are listed on this site.
Someday, you will find other data sets that are not published in the book. Finally, there are links to other web-based resources for statistics and the teaching of statistics. The authors intend this site to serve as a resource for the teaching of statistics. If you have a data set that you think would form the basis of a good example, homework problem, or exam question in the areas of linear regression, analysis of variance, analysis of covariance, nonlinear regression, or logistic regression, you may contribute it for posting below by sending it, along with an explanatory paragraph about the problem (including literature citation if applicable) and a note about the organization of the data set, to Bryan who will review it and post it with some explanatory material and an acknowlegement of you as the source.
Stanton A. Glantz, Ph.D., is Professor of Medicine and Bioengineering, and a member of both the Cardiovascular Research Institute and Institute for Health Policy Studies, at the University of California, San Francisco. ![]()
Bryan K. Slinker, D.V.M., Ph.D., is Professor and Chair of Veterinary and Comparative Anatomy, Pharmacology, and Physiology at Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.
Stan and Bryan would love to hear from you if you have comments about the book (however, we aren't in the statistical consulting business).
