About the Study Tour

Participants will explore the food system from farm-to-table in South America.  Facilitated discussions with key government and private sector leaders and site visits along the food supply chain are designed to integrate knowledge and skills in food safety, animal health and public health.  The tour is designed for food industry professionals, government regulators and policy makers, and students in academic graduate health certificate and degree programs.

 
  

The tour is directed and conducted by Scott Wells DVM, PhD, Center for Animal Health and Food Safety, College of Veterinary Medicine, and Professor, Division of Epidemiology and Community Health, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, and William Sischo, DVM, PhD, Professor, College of Veterinary Medicine, Washington State University.  Instructional and site assistance is provided by Ed van Klink, DVM, PhD, National Reference Centre for Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture, The Netherlands.
