The skin and the platysma (A), a cutaneous muscle, have been pulled away to expose the somewhat V-shaped parotid salivary gland (B) under the ear and the mandibular salivary gland (C) caudal to the mandible. The muscle exposed on the manible is the masseter muscle (D). I identified the mandibular lymph node for you - If I was to do this on the test, could you tell me the function of the lymph node?
