As you can see here, and you should have guessed from the previous image, the limb was cut through the radius (A). The carpus (B) consists of actually three joints. The third metacarpal (and the 3rd metatarsal) is sometimes called the cannon bone (C). The metacarpal-phalangeal joint (and the metatarsal-phalangeal joint) is commonly referred to as the fetlock joint (D). The first phalanx is the long pastern bone (E), and the second phalanx is the short pastern bone (G), making the first interphalangeal joint the pastern joint (F). Finally, the third phalanx, because it is enclosed in the hoof as though it is in a coffin, is called the coffin bone (I), and its articulation with the second phalanx is the coffin joint (H).
