Pancreatic ducts [ Back ]
The ducts coming from the acini, the intra(within)lobular ducts, converge to form larger ducts, inter(between)lobular ducts. The arrow is pointing to the epithelium lining of an interlobular duct. What type of epithelium is it? Identify the acini and the apical and basal portions of the cells within the acini. Slightly above and to the right of the duct is an arteriole. You don't need to be able to identify it as an arteriole yet. You should know, however, that its lining epithelium (endothelium) is simple squamous epithelium. Did you identify the tissue lining the duct as simple cuboidal epithelium? |
