The Eye [ image 1 ] [ image 2 ] [ image 3 ] [ image 4 ] [ image 5 ] [ Eye Review ] If you look closely at your dissection dog, you should be able to see muscle fibers encicling the palpebral fissure, unless they have been cut away with the skin. This is the orbicularis oculi muscle (A), which closes the eye. Muscle fibers passing caudally from the upper eyelid belong to the levator palpebrae superioris muscle (B).
