Now exposed is the third eyelid (A) or, if you prefer, nictating membrane, and the orbital ligament (B). The orbital ligament bridges the gap between the zygomatic process of the frontal bone and the frontal process of the zygomatic bone. In the equine and bovine species, these two boney processes extend the gap and fuse. Look at the bovine and equine skulls to see this.
