You should first be able to identify this as small intestine because of the presence of villi. Click on this button large intestine to compare it to the large intestine, which has crypts but no villi. Although lymphatic nodules and Peyer's patches are scattered throughout the digestive system, only in the ileum do we see such dense clusters of Peyer's patches.
