SagHfFtAngle.JPG (250867 bytes)The white line is composed of the deep nonpigmented portion of the stratum medium and the nonpigmented stratum internum. The stratum internum is not produced much more distally than the third phalynx (P3), but it is pushed distally by the downward growth of the stratum medium. If you look closely at the inner portion of the white line on the ground surface of the hoof, you can see the epidermal laminae.
