Much of the course of the median and ulnar nerves along the brachium is together. When they get to the distal third of the brachium, their paths diverge (see image below).

In this image, the diversion of the ulnar nerve caudally is more obvious. The median nerve continues its course with the brachial artery, and then median artery, across the forearm. Which group of muscles are innervated by the median and ulnar nerves and what is their action?

The median and ulnar nerves innervate the flexors of the carpus and digits, with the median nerve innervating the muscles on the medial aspect of the forearm, and the ulnar nerve innervating those on the caudal aspect. Because of the species variations, just know this generally scheme.

The median nerve has no cutaneous innervation to the forearm. What aspect of the forearm has cutaneous innervation from the ulnar nerve?

The ulnar nerve innervates the skin on the posterior (caudal) aspect of the forearm. (ramU lamP)
