The thick radial nerve (R) can be seen entering the triceps
brachii muscles distal to the teres major muscle. It supplies the extensors
of the elbow as it courses around the caudal aspect of the humerus.
Scroll down.
When
you transected the lateral head of the triceps brachii muscle (A), you
exposed branches of the radial nerve penetrating this muscle (B),
as well as branches (C) that give sensory innervation from the forearm
and motor innervation to the extensors of the carpus and digits (extensor
carpi radialis muscle, common digital extensor muscle, lateral digital extensor muscle).
Do not forget that the ulnaris lateralis muscle, which has its origin as
an extensor and is therefore innervated by the radial nerve, flexus the carpus. Which
aspect of the forearm receives sensory innervation from the radial nerve?
The radial nerve provides sensory innervation from the
lateral aspect of the forearm. (Ramu Lamp)
