Program Assessment
Accredidation
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
Council on Education (COE) accredits veterinary education programs to assure
that minimum standards in veterinary education are met and that students
enrolled in the program receive an education which will prepare them for
entry-level positions in the profession. The WSU College of Veterinary Medicine
underwent accreditation review in 2010 and full accreditation was accorded the
DVM program until 2017.
National Board Examination
The National Board of Veterinary Medical
Examiners (NBVME) provides a standardized examination, the
North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) which is used by
state and provincial licensing boards as part of their licensure procedure for
veterinarians.
The following table shows the success rate of WSU veterinary
students on the NAVLE.
