Course Overview

Compounding of veterinary pharmaceuticals is an important topic made more apparent by the recent deaths of 21 polo ponies in Florida. Veterinarians involved in almost every aspect of practice (small animal, large animal, exotics) will at some time need to consider a compounded veterinary drug in order to offer the best treatment for their patient.

The course will provide information regarding the legal aspects of veterinary compounding including what the veterinarian’s role/responsibility is as well as the pharmacist’s role/responsibility.

Additionally, the course will outline potential pitfalls of compounded drugs in comparison to FDA-approved drugs. Don’t miss this important opportunity for continuing education on a timely topic.

Voice - annotated slides are comparable to what would be shown in a live lecture. A slide containing text or a picture (or both) appears on the screen.  Each time you advance to the next slide you will hear the instructor discussing the information on the slide. To use the voice annotated slides, you must have speakers attached to your computer.
