Each course includes 2 hours of lectures. Sign-up gives you
access to the course for 2 weeks.
Instructor: Franois Martin
Dr. Martin was formerly the Associate Director of the Center for
the Study of Animal Well-Being and Head of
People-Pet Partnership. He has a B.Sc. in Psychology, and a
M.A. and a Ph.D. in Animal Ethology. He has been actively
involved in the human-animal bond field for more than fifteen
years.

Course 2: The Human-Animal Bond and Veterinary Medicine
- The history of the HAB in veterinary medicine
- The importance of the HAB for veterinary students
- The integration of the HAB into the private practice of
veterinary medicine

Supporting clients facing or going through the loss of their
companion animal
Instructions for signup
Click on the "Signup for course" (course 1 or course 2)
link. Complete the form with your registration information.
Your login name will be your email address. You will select
your own password. When you submit your registration
information it will be emailed to Karen Hornfelt. When
payment has been received, your account will be activated
and you will be notified.
After entering your contact and payment information for one
course, you do not have to re enter this information when you
register for the second course. Your email address and password
will retrieve your contact information.
Course fee = $50 per course. Payment can be made by check
payable to Washington State University, College of
Veterinary Medicine; or by credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
Payment by credit card can be made using our secure server
during online registration.
How the course works
To use the course materials anytime during the open course
period:
Click on the "Start course" link for either course.
If you forget your password after your account has been
activated, click on the "Forgot my password" link.
Voice - annotated slides are comparable to what would be
shown in a live lecture. A slide containing text or a
picture (or both) appears on the screen. Each time you
advance to the next slide you will hear the instructor
discussing the information on the slide. To use the voice
annotated slides, you must have speakers attached to your
computer.
