Course Overview

Though any infectious agent can spread in a hospital, nosocomial agents are those that have evolved to be highly adapted to the hospital ecosystem.  Certain strains of Staph aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Clostridium difficile, and others spread between patients and hospitals in both humans and animals.  The ecology and general means by which nosocomial agents spread will be covered in the first hour.  Details for specific agents along with disinfection and monitoring will be covered.

Voice - annotated slides are comparable to what would be shown in a live lecture. A slide containing text or a picture (or both) appears on the screen.  Each time you advance to the next slide you will hear the instructor discussing the information on the slide. To use the voice annotated slides, you must have speakers attached to your computer.
