Throughout the academic year, the WSU SCAVMA raises funds to
cover travel and registration costs for students attending the
annual Student AVMA Educational Symposium. Students from 34 veterinary
colleges across the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean
attend the symposium to learn
through lectures and wet labs, to form new relationships within
the profession, to visit other veterinary colleges, and to
develop leadership skills. Last year, WSU dominated the
symposium competitions and was awarded the All-Around SAVMA
Championship title. This year we have over 50 WSU students
registered for the Symposium at the University of Minnesota in
March. To ensure these students attend and WSU defends
our title, we plan to raise $30,000 over the next few months.
In addition to receiving cash donations from benefactors, the
WSU SCAVMA raises funds within the college and community through
three primary campaigns: bake sales, a raffle, and a week-long
silent auction. Students bake items and manage tables for the
bake sales, sell raffle tickets at local grocery stores on
weekends, and solicit donations for the auction from local
businesses and individuals within the college, community, and
across the Pacific Northwest. across the Pacific Northwest. Donations can be sent directly to:
