SAVMA Symposium March 2009 at Ohio State
First of all we want to thank everyone for their overwhelming
support for SAVMA Symposium 2009 at Ohio State. With the time
commitment and dedication of so many of you, we were able to pay the
way for 30 students to attend symposium. This is awesome,
especially because we were one of the more represented schools at
symposium!
Some of the wet labs that students attended were The Wilds Zoo
Animal Darting, Equine Anesthesia, The Physics of Fecals, and
Cardiovascular Disease. Day trips included the Amish Country Tour,
OSU College of Veterinary Medicine Tour, and the Columbus Zoo. We
also competed in the bovine palpation and freshman anatomy
competitions. There were a variety of lectures that covered topics
such as Public Health Food Safety, Animal Rehab, Small Animal
Surgery, Equine Medicine, Veterinary Leadership, Companion Animal
Urogenital, Hematology, Parasitology and Cardiology.
We all enjoyed our last evening listening to guest speaker Dr. Kevin
Fitzgerald at the Farewell Gala.
And last but not least some very exciting news, our very own Aaron
Gibbons was elected as the new SAVMA President Elect!!!!
Once again we appreciate your enthusiasm and loyalty to us and
wouldn’t of been able to do this without your help.
We are already looking forward to SAVMA Symposium 2010 at University
of Wisconsin-Madison March 10-14.
