Student Chapter of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association

   
 

The purpose of WSU-CVM Holistic Club shall be to educate and provide information to those individuals who are interested in learning about ways to compliment conventional veterinary medicine with alternative therapies. Such therapies include acupuncture, chiropractic, herbs, massage, homeopathy, healing energy, natural diets, flower essences etc. The Holistic Club will also provide resources for interested individuals to further their knowledge and to build a network within the holistic veterinary community.

The WSU Student Chapter of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association is now sponsored by:

  • September. T.B.A. - First meeting and food distribution
  • September 27th - Dr. Charles Coleman, DVM from Pasco, WA (Coleman Animal Health Center.) Dr. Coleman is a certified animal chiropractor, prototherapist, and all around holistic veterinarian. Dinner lecture followed by a demonstration and hands on lab with dogs, followed by an equine chiropractor demonstration on a horse in McCoy. 5-8:30pm Bustad 210.
  • October - Food Distribution
  • October 20th Dr. Rosemarie Astorino, DVM from Spokane, WA. Dr. Astorino is a certified veterinary acupuncturist and Chinese herbologist. Lunch lecture 12-1 Bustad 145. Live dog acupuncture demonstration and lab 2-3:30. Bustad 210.
  • November – Food Distribution
  • November 1th – Antonette Ginochio, Veterinary Services Manager of Natura Pet Products. Lunch lecture.
  • November 2nd – Nutramax Labs lunch lecture
  • November 3rd – Dr. Randy Aronson, DVM from Tucson, AZ. Outstanding nationally known holistic veterinarian! Lunch Lecture, topic TBA.

Past Events

Saturday, April 8, 2006 (10:00am – 4:00 pm) – The Holistic Club will have a very interesting booth set up at the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine’s annual open house!  The open house is during mom’s weekend and is located in the large animal breezeway portion of the veterinary teaching hospital.  We will have homemade dog and cat treats, an acupuncture video demonstrations, informative books and pamphlets, a wonderful poster board describing the definition of “holistic” and of course, we will be selling our beautiful club t-shirts (men and women styles).  Don’t miss out on this as well as much much more!
