DC for Clients and Facilitators

Notes and Reminders DURING DC week

  • Thirsty or hungry?  Need some caffeine?
During the DC, we have an account open at the Campus Cart (Starbucks coffee shop) on the first floor of Bustad Hall. If you are a DC client or visiting facilitator, your name is on a list there that allows you to charge drinks, snacks and food.  It’s a small token in appreciation of your participation in the DC.  Be sure to tell the barista that you are part of the Diagnostic Challenge and give them your name.  Remember that the cart is run by students so they sometimes get confused.  Any questions or problems, see your facilitator, Steve Hines, or Rachel Halsey.

  • CELL PHONE: Consider giving the students a phone number by which they might reach you after hours or when you are away from your “home base” during the week.
  • TIP:  Make sure you also know where and how to contact the facilitator(s) on your case.  Most have their own cell phones or an office phone.  You can often call them if you have a question or want some advice.  You can even take a TIME OUT with the students to do so.
  • Please be sure to check the DC week schedule and to make sure you are available to students at the appropriate times.
  • TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT:  If you’re visiting from out of town and need to be reimbursed for your travel expenses, you’ll need to sign off on the appropriate WSU paper work while you’re in town. Rachel Halsey (509-335-6015;  rhalsey@vetmed.wsu.edu) will have the necessary paperwork and will be onsite.  Please don’t wait until the last minute, so that this is taken care of.  If, by chance, the paperwork doesn’t get filled out, we will have to do it later by FAX or mail
