Computer Slides

BCU can make 35mm slides directly from the following native programs:

Windows 95,2000,NT,XP Macintosh OS10
Power Point XP and Below PowerPoint 2000 & below
PhotoShop CS MS Office 98
Slide Write 6.0 PhotoShop 6.0
PageMaker 7.0 all  .PICT files
MS Excel & Word XP all .EPS files
.TIF, .PICT, .JPG, .BMP, or .EPS files

If you are using the latest version of a program that we do not yet have an upgrade for, simply save it as an older version that is compatible with the above list. We should be able to image anything from previous versions of the above packages. CAMERA READY FILES:   If you have a program that we do not have, we can still image your files if you save each individual slide as a:

.TIF, .PICT, .GIF, .JPG, .BMP, or .EPS file format.

Most programs include these options under the File/Save As or File /Import To menu.

REMEMBER: to make sure your files are setup for 35mm slides and not defaulted to screen show. This will effect the proportions, and potentially cause things to move around on the final slides. When you first start any presentation, go into File/Page Setup and adjust it to 35mm slide before you do anything else to it. If you change this after you have created your presentation you will find that text and images will have moved around on you. Make sure you go into every slide and double check them before you send them to us. We cannot be held responsible for pre-existing errors in the files we are given. Its also a good idea to remember to do a spell check on those files before you send them to us as well.

Transferring Files:  If your files are too large for a floppy disk, or if you are too busy to walk them down to our office, feel free to send them too us via our FTP site. (remember to call us at 335-2624 and place your order after you've transferred your files.) Please, remember to only send us the exact slides you want imaged. Do not send us an entire file if you only need one or two slides from it.

You can also save large files onto MAC or PC formatted Zip disks, or burn them onto a CD-ROM.

Turn-Arounds & Prices

We can either save these files to a floppy disk, zip disk, or CD for you (keep in mind most images are too large to fit on a floppy), save them to the CVM network, or put them in our FTP site for you to pick up remotely.

All scans cost $2.00 each and take 2 days to process at a regular rate. For a list of our policies and turn-around times check here.

Please get copyright permission from photographers and publishers before you submit other peoples work for us to scan. WSU's copyright policy can be found in the WSU copyright office.
