Dr. David Rector, Assistant Professor in the Department of VCAPP, has been
awarded the fall 2008 GPSA Excellence Honor in Advising. The
Graduate and Professional Student Association accepted nominations
for excellence in advising during the fall semester. Students
were asked to nominate advisors who have gone "above and beyond" in
their work with graduate and professional students, and Dr. Rector
was selected as one who "set himself apart amongst his students."
According to Jessica Moore's
letter to
Interim Dean Bryan Slinker announcing David's award, "Exceptional
mentors beget exceptional scholars, and I encourage you to share the
success of Dr. Rector with the colleagues and students without your
department. I commend you on the clearly exceptional work taking
place without your college."
Interim Chair, Steve Simasko, announced the award to VCAPP
Departmental colleagues and added his congratulations for the honor.
