Our photographer shoots with a Nikon D2x, 12 mega pixel camera and a Nikon D300,
12 mega pixel camera.
Our studio is fully equipped with studio lighting, various backdrops, copy stand
and portable lighting kits.
Policies and Payment information

We print digital photos on our Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer. Photos are
printed on a standard 8.5x11 photo gloss paper at $4.50 per page. Photo
combinations are shown below. We also offer larger photo papers at 11”x17” and
13”x19”.

All passport photos are taken digitally on spot. You will be able to choose from
the shots taken immediately after the session. You can pick up your six prints
for $9.95 plus $0.87 sales tax, by noon the next working day. Our standard
passport photos are 2x2” U.S. passports. Please provide us with additional
information if you require unique dimensions (i.e. Canadian passports, Visas,
est.)
Our scientific photography is used for teaching and research purposes. All
images are captured digitally in our fully equipped studio or in a variety of
hospital settings such as: the veterinary clinic, laboratories, during
surgeries, operating rooms, etc. Our studio is equipped for microscope
photography, or our photographer is able to assist on location with microscope
photography. Scientific photography costs $45.00 per hour of labor. Please make
an appointment in advance to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Our photographer can achieve 1 to 1 life size images with specialty lighting and
copy stand photography. Photographic services include: gross specimen, back
lighting (lighting below or behind a specimen), reflection control photography
and more. Copy stand photography cost $45.00 per hour of labor. Please make an
appointment in advance to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Our photographer has the expertise to digitally document gross specimens using
copy stand photography. Specimens include animal, insect, vegetable, mineral and
more. Studio use costs $45.00 per hour and each digital photo kept costs $2.00 a
piece. Please make an appointment in advance to avoid scheduling conflicts.
We can provide a photographer on location for intra-university events, awards,
press conferences, department faculty photos and more. Studio lighting equipment
and portable lighting kits are available if required. Location photography costs
$45.00 per hour of labor. Please make an appointment in advance to avoid
scheduling conflicts.
We provide formal, business, Veterinary Medicine graduation and small group
portraiture in our studio. Backdrop colors include grey, white and black. Our
portraiture is performed digitally for quick access to proofs and final prints.
Portrait studio use costs $45.00 per hour and each digital photo kept is $2.00.

We no longer process film. Film outsourced for processing require varied rates
and turn around times

BCU can help with fine tuning images to improve color balance, levels
correction, cropping, enlarging, sharpening, restoring old photographs and more.
Other services include minor image retouching, batch processing and conversion,
and even manipulating a photo to make it look like a custom oil painting. Bring
in your images, consult with our professional staff, and we’ll take care of the
rest.
BCU can design and create photo composites for faculty and staff departments,
student classes and more using software programs such as Photoshop, InDesign,
Power Point and IrfanView. We can provide individual photo mats, with Plexiglas
plates and frames for display purposes. We can also provide a one mat template
with multiple openings, a Plexiglas plate and a frame. Labor fees of $45.00 per
hour applied for both design work and photography.

Small composites can be printed as 8.5x11 or 11x17 pages and large composites
can be printed to a large poster format. Mats and Frames can be special ordered
for specific coloring. Crimson and grey materials are in stock.
Renewal/updating photo compositions are charged on an hourly rate of $45.00 per
hour
We scan with a Epson Expression 10000XL scanner and a Nikon Super Cool Scan
5000, 35mm Scanner. We can scan slides, photographs, prints, documents, book
pages, est. up to 12x17”. Images can be scanned into any file format, resolution
or size dependent upon your needs. If a preference is not specified, 150dpi is
the default TIFF or .JPEG file. We can email you these files, save them on a CD
or save them on our BCU Inbox for direct pickup.
Copyright permission from photographers and publishers is required before
scanning. WSU's copyright policy can be found in the
WSU copyright office.
All scans cost $2.50 each and take 2 days to process. Bulk Scans: (50+ slides
scanned to PowerPoint resolution, uncropped and un-retouched) saved to CD is
$.25 per slide with a two week minimum turnaround.

Over the years we have helped many WSU researchers prepare their images
for publication by printing, scaling, labeling and converting files meet the
