Large
Format Posters
BCU can produce
beautiful posters for use at your conferences and other occasions. We print
up to 54 inches wide and 50/100 feet long if needed and have them ready for you
in two days (in by 10AM out by 4:30 the next working day). These color posters
are printed on Hewlett Packard DesignJet 5500CP inkjet printers at 1200 dpi.
Larger posters can be "tiled" and pieces together or we
can outsource them, but turn-arounds & pricing will vary.
There is a
maximum width of 54 inches for the below prices. Keep in mind this printer has a
0.75inch margin and will cut off any text or images that are butted up right
next to the edge.
Prices are based on square foot of printed space...you do not pay for extra
paper used. There are no added service fees. To calculate
price...multiply your dimensions in inches, divide by 144, and mulitply by the
square foot price. IE. a 24"x36" poster

All prints are 600dpi. These prices are based on printed square feet including
margins.

Descriptions:
(BCU trims the margins and excess paper off your posters

Heavyweight Coated Paper- is a thick
paper with a non reflective surface. Its sturdy but can be rolled into a tube.
Semi Gloss Photo Paper - is a
thicker paper with a semi glossy finish making it look like photographic paper.
Tyvek® - is a sturdy, tear proof canvas like
material. It is lightfast and waterfast which means you can leave it outside in the
weather and when used with UV protectant ink it will not fade, bleed, or smear over time.
Tyvek is also a nice alternative to lamination, esp. on prints that are too large to be
laminated.
Backlit Film - This is a white plastic
material. When placed on a light table or other backlit structure, light shines through
the material bringing life to your picture.
Other media available: Vinyl banner is a long term use, exterior
product which can be grommeted with wind slits for bridge banners, or banners
that will be used year after year.
Self-adhesive Vinyl is an exterior product used for sandwich boards,
exterior signs, etc. Both the vinyl and SA vinyl will begin to fade in
direct sunlight after 9 months.
Waterproof Paper is a paper made out of stone with a plastic backing.
It is good for exterior short term use, and will not watermark or wrinkle in
outdoor sandwich boards, etc.

UV
Protectant Inks - All posters, banners and displays are printed
with UV Protectant Inks which are especially made to withstand indoor and outdoor light
without fading. Depending on the medium printed to, this ink will last 100
years on interior products, and up to 9 months in direct sunlight.
NOTE: BCU no longer
offers water-based inks. We have purchased new printers which are all UV
protectant inks printers.

Lamination and
Mounting:
Lamination - We can laminate with glossy or satin laminate up
to 48" width. The cost is $3.95 per square foot. All displays are done in
JetGuard Crystal Matte satin laminate which is specifically made for non-glare
viewing. It is a thick 6 mil plastic. Our laminates are all highest
quality SEAL products. NOTE: Many other thinner and cheaper
laminates are available but we do not stock them.

mounting process requires that the product be laminated at the same time it is

Poster/ Shipment tubes You may

Velcro - 1/4 inch hook Velcro can be
purchased for $0.40 foot. This velcro is perfect for use on the back of
laminated or mounted displays to stick to carpeted display boards.
Poster Design & Layout - BCU staff
will be happy to design the layout of your poster for you, however you will need to
provide several things. Please type all of your text, preferably in MS Word. Remember to
spell check, BCU cannot be held responsible for misspellings on text you provide. Also
bring any pictures or graphs you want included on your poster, and make sure you know the
exact dimensions that your poster needs to be. Poster Design may take anywhere between one
day to a week depending on your complexity and preparedness. As with any other labor
intensive service, BCU will charge $30 per hour, so the more prepared you are the cheaper
it will be. Please allow one week for design work.
