  Neurology Service

The neurology section provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for all species. Expertise in neurologic assessment is combined with special medical imaging, electrodiagnostics, clinical pathology and other modalities in pursuit of the most rapid and complete diagnosis. Commonly seen problems include compressive lesions of the spinal column, spinal instability, cranial neoplasia, along with inflammatory, infectious, and metabolic diseases. WSU has leading edge neurosurgical capabilities for all levels of the nervous system, i.e. peripheral nerves, spinal cord, and brain.

Neurology Endowment

The Neurology Endowment at Washington State University was established by the generous donations of owners of dogs who had neurologic problems. This endowment provides monies which are used for the care for animals with neurological problems, disemmination of information, and research into the neurologic diseases of companion animals.

Great strides have been made in many aspects of veterinary neurology. As we acquire new information we are better able to treat more neurological diseases than we could even a few short years ago. These strides have been made through both clinical and basic science research.

As research dollars are becoming harder and harder to find for diseases of dogs and cats, the neurology service, through donations from very kind pet owners who had dogs with neurological diseases, has established an endowment dedicated toward funding research projects that attempt to find better diagnostic tests and treatments for neurological problems in animals.

Contributions to this endowment are used for the purpose of better understanding of neurologic disease of animals. If you would like to contribute, further information can be obtained at the front desk or by asking one of the neurology staff. Contributions go directly toward helping animals with neurological disease. All contributions are greatly appreciated.

This endowment is a tribute to the many kind and loving owners and their pets whose legacy is one of helping others.
