Thank you for your interest in supporting the College of Veterinary Medicine and
world-class education at Washington State University. Each year, hundreds of
alumni and friends of the college enhance the teaching, research, and outreach
programs through private philanthropy and charitable donations. Generous gifts
by individuals and organizations provide scholarships and fellowships,
state-of-the-art equipment for teaching and research, funding for student clubs,
and a variety of other important programs.

Camelids Funding
supports camelid care (including llamas, alpacas, and cervids) through
education, research, and the treatment of camelids all over the Pacific
Northwest.
Cancer (Oncology) As
leaders in comparative cancer research, WSU is on the forefront of companion
animal cancer care with expanded services in radiation therapy, innovative
radiopharmaceuticals, and transplantation medicine.
Companion Animal Genetics
Program
A gift to this program will support genetics research and testing, which helps
identify genetic mutations that predispose animals to drug sensitivity, heart
conditions, or other disease.
Comparative Orthopedic
Research Laboratory (CORL) WSU offers orthopedic diagnostic, surgery, and
physical therapy services using advanced technology including an underwater
treadmill.
Neurology The
neurology service at WSU provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic
services. A gift to the Neurology Endowment supports the care for animals with
neurological problems and research into the neurologic diseases of companion
animals.
Small
Animal Clinical Services Gifts to this fund support specialized care in
many areas including cardiology, neurology, and internal medicine using
state-of-the-art medical technologies.
A gift to the
Radiology Services at WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine supports the
surgery, internal medicine, neurology, cardiology, equine, and oncology services
in providing the best possible care for all animals. Faculty and students use
the most advanced medical imagining devices in veterinary medicine including
ultrasound, radiographs (x-rays), CT scans (computerized tomography), and MRIs
(magnetic resonance imaging) for large and small animals.
Veterinary
Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory (VCPL) Some dogs, like Collies, are more
sensitive to the effects of certain medications. Gifts to this fund support the
latest research and affordable testing for drug sensitivity.
Cancer (Oncology) As
leaders in comparative cancer research, WSU is on the forefront of equine cancer
care with expanded services in radiation therapy, innovative
radiopharmaceuticals, and chemotherapy.
Equine Medicine and Surgery
World-renowned expertise in lameness evaluation and endoscopic surgery, the
equine group provides comprehensive horse care including advanced diagnostics,
orthopedic surgery, and pain management services throughout the Pacific
Northwest.
The Equine
Infectious Diseases Research Program (EQUID) This cutting-edge research
program is committed to improving the health and lives of horses throughout the
world. Gifts support the development of improved diagnostics, treatment
protocols, and prevention strategies for infectious vector-borne diseases of
horses and infectious respiratory diseases of foals. In addition, gifts support
the training of veterinary students and degree-seeking veterinarians in modern
biomedical research directed at providing research-based solutions to infectious
diseases of horses.

Seattle
Slew Spinal Cord Research Fund Named for the 1977 Triple Crown winner, this
fund was established to advance research in the diagnosis and treatment of
equine spinal cord disease.
Adopt a Raptor
The Raptor Rehabilitation Program provides food, shelter, and medical care to
sick or injured birds, returning them to the wild whenever possible.
Veterinary Teaching
Hospital One of the best-equipped teaching hospitals in the world, WSU
provides specialty services in animal oncology, cardiology, and neurology.
Around-the-clock, fee-based veterinary services for large and small animals are
available to the public. The hospital is also a referral center for
practitioners in the Pacific Northwest and western Canadian provinces.
VALT Lab
Veterinary Applied Laparoscopic Training (VALT) Laboratory. Gifts to this
program support specialized training in laparoscopic surgery. As the first
training laboratory of its kind in the nation, WSU is at the forefront of
training tomorrow’s veterinary surgeons.
The
School of Molecular
Biosciences joined the College of Veterinary Medicine in July 2010 to become
a larger group of biomedical research scientists with a greater pool of
scientific resources. With the help of caring friends like you, we are able to
remain on the cutting-edge of infectious disease diagnostics, reproductive
health, and understanding the effects of DNA repair on diseases such as cancer.
Paul G. Allen School
for Global Animal Health The mission of the newly created school is to
provide innovative solutions to global infectious disease challenges by
developing innovative strategies for the treatment and control of infectious
diseases that directly affect human health and economic development.
The Aquatic Animal
Health Program works to improve the health of fish and other aquatic animals
locally and globally, through certification, diagnostics, student training, and
advances in scientific research.
Creativity in Teaching Fund Used to support
student education through enhanced library facilities and exceptional curriculum
including the Diagnostic Challenge.
The Fund for
Education Innovation supports the development of novel curriculum to enhance
student learning.
The Elizabeth
Hall Scholarship is a way for alumni and friends to make meaningful
contributions to Microbiology education at WSU's School of Molecular Bioscience.
STARS gives
select students a chance to accelerate learning and earn a doctorate in
as little as seven years after leaving high school.
The Dr. Warwick Bayly Scholarship in Equine Internal
Medicine Established by faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of
the college, this scholarship honors Dr. Warwick Bayly’s three decades of
service to the veterinary profession and his outstanding service as an equine
medical clinician, researcher, and administrator at WSU.
Dr. John
R. Gorham Fellowship in Veterinary Medicine Named for Dr. Gorham who holds
the longest tenure of any faculty member in the college, this fellowship was
established to foster the education and scientific curiosity of graduate
students studying animal diseases.
Dr. John
R. Gorham Comparative Medicine Scholarship Endowment is awarded to a
student enrolled full-time in the professional veterinary medicine who best
demonstrates an interest in laboratory animal medicine or comparative medicine,
and has performed research or clinical investigations in these fields in an
exemplary fashion.
The
Charles C. Mellinger III Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a third- or
fourth-year veterinary student who intends to go into agricultural animal
practice.
The
Heritage Scholarship Fund This fund supports tomorrow’s veterinarians by
providing scholarships to offset the rising cost of education.
Margin
of Excellence Fund. Provides continued support to our faculty, students, and
outstanding programs in the college.
Neuroscience Endowed Scholarship The WSU Program in neuroscience offers
academic scholarships to undergraduate students who demonstrate academic
excellence and an interest in neuroscience.
The Barb
Robbins Wildlife Scholarship. Established by faculty, staff, students,
alumni, and friends of the college, this scholarship honors Barb Robbins' 35
years of service to veterinary students and education.
The Ghery D. Pettit and Jack D. Robinette Surgery Scholarship. Established
to honor two outstanding veterinary surgeons for their dedicated service to the
WSU College of Veterinary Medicine.
Peter A.
Zornes Memorial Neuroscience Scholarship The scholarship is awarded to an
undergraduate student majoring in neuroscience who shows exceptional dedication,
leadership, and compassion.
Class of
'61 Professionalism Endowment and Scholarship. Awardees exemplify
professionalism, demonstrate knowledge and competence; compassion; attention to
duty; adherence to ethical standards; and have respectful and caring relations
with classmates. The selection is made by a vote of the third-year class.
Good Samaritan Fund
Used exclusively to treat animals whose owners cannot afford care or for animals
who do not have owners.
Grateful
Client Program Through this program, pet owners can give back to the
veterinary profession and show their appreciation for the care given to their
companion animals.
People Pet Partnership A
public service program designed to better understand the human-animal bond and
improve the lives of people and companion animals through education, research,
and outreach.
Pet Memorial Program This program provides a way
for friends, family, and veterinarians to express sympathy and compassion for
grieving pet owners after the loss of a beloved pet.
Sonny
Angel, Cody Jo and Annie Marie’s Gift of Hope Endowment Established by
Bill Johnson in memory of his golden retrievers “Sonny Angel” and “Cody Jo and a
friend's dog Annie Marie,” this fund is used to care for sick animals needing
life-saving procedures who have no owners or whose owners do not have the means
to pay for veterinary care.
Animal Health Library
A gift to the "Endow a Chair (or maybe a table) Campaign" supports student
education by enhancing library facilities. Funds will be used to purchase
new tables and chairs, comfortable sofas, and create modern workspaces.
BCU Equipment Fund BCU
is a full-service, multimedia, photographic & digital imaging service unit
located on the WSU-Pullman campus. Gifts to this fund will go to help build
a new state-of-the-art video studio.
Stars students
are exceptional students who will be the future leaders in biomedical and
other areas of research.
The Elizabeth
Hall Scholarship is a way for alumni and friends to make meaningful
