Elected Offices and Duties

All officers are expected to attend each club meeting and will be allotted two excused absences per academic year.  To excuse oneself, an officer must notify another officer before the start of a meeting.  In the case of an unexcused absence or excessive absences the position will be turned over with a new election.

The following officers are elected by a simple majority of members usually at the last meeting of the academic year:

President- The president will work with the faculty adviser to plan all programs, activities, financial expenditures, and preside over meetings.

Vice-President/Outreach The vice-president will work with the President and faculty adviser to plan all programs and activities and is responsible for planning events for the Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools and WSU Campus outreach programs. .  The Vice President will take the place of the President in his/her absence.

NuTS Mentoring Leader (Responsibilities to be defined and inserted into the constitution at a later date. For 2009-2010, Alex Bond will be the NuTS Mentoring Leader.  In subsequent years, the position will be decided with election by a simple majority similarly to the other officer positions.)

Communications Officer- The Communication Officer will be responsible for communicating and advertising events to members as well as to the WSU student body.   At meetings, the CO will be responsible for taking minutes.

Treasurer- The Treasurer will be responsible for collecting and depositing all membership dues and other income with the WSU Controller's Office, request reimbursement checks for club expenses incurred by members and invited guests, and keep accurate accounting of club finances. The treasurer will also be responsible for fundraisers.

Parliamentary Procedures
Revision of the Constitution and/or addition of amendments are approved by a ¾ majority of the current full membership.
