The Neuroscience club meets
monthly. The purpose of the club is to promote awareness of neuroscience
among the WSU student population; to encourage professional relations
between students and neuroscience faculty; and to provide students with
opportunities for exposure to current research, potential career paths, and
leading neuroscience practitioners.
Membership Requirements
Full Members:
Currently enrolled WSU students who have
submitted current dues.
Associate Members:
WSU Faculty/Staff, University of Idaho students
and Faculty/Staff.
The WSU
Neuroscience club is open to all students regardless of race; religion; sex;
age; color; creed; national or ethnic origin; physical, mental or sensory
disability; marital status; sexual orientation; and status as a Vietnam-era
or disabled veteran.
Membership
Dues - $5/semester
Elected Offices and
Duties
The following officers are
elected by a simple majority of members:
President-
The president will work with the faculty adviser to plan all programs,
activities, financial expenditures, and preside over meetings.
Vice-President/Outreach
The vice-president will
work with the President and faculty adviser to plan all programs and
activities and is responsible for planning events for the Elementary
Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools and WSU Campus outreach programs. .
The Vice President will take the place of the President in his/her absence.
Communications Officer-
The
Communication Officer will be responsible for communicating and advertising
events to members as well as to the WSU student body. At
meetings, the CO will be responsible for taking minutes.
Treasurer-
The Treasurer will be responsible for collecting and depositing all membership
dues and other income with the WSU Controller's Office, request
reimbursement checks for club expenses incurred by members, and keep
accurate accounting of club finances.
Historian-
The Historian will
design the Neuroscience
Club display and maintain an up-to-date album of photos taken at activities.
Parliamentary Procedures
Revision of the
Constitution and/or addition of amendments are approved by a ¾ majority of
the current full membership.
