NuTS Leader:

The Neuroscience club meets bimonthly. The purpose of
the club is to promote awareness of neuroscience among the WSU student
population; to encourage professional relations between students and
neuroscience faculty; and to provide students with opportunities for
exposure to current research, mentoring opportunities, potential career
paths, and leading neuroscience practitioners.
The Neuroscience club is responsible for
providing dissection kits for the students of Neuro 430 before the end of
each fall semester.

Membership Requirements
Full Members:
Currently enrolled WSU students who have
submitted current dues.
Associate Members:
WSU Faculty/Staff, University of Idaho students
and Faculty/Staff.
The WSU
Neuroscience club is open to all students regardless of race; religion; sex;
age; color; creed; national or ethnic origin; physical, mental or sensory
disability; marital status; sexual orientation; and status as a Vietnam-era
or disabled veteran.
Membership
Dues - $5/semester
Elected Offices and
Duties
All officers are expected to attend each club meeting
and will be allotted two excused absences per academic year.
To excuse oneself, an officer must notify
another officer before the start of a meeting.
In the case of an unexcused absence or
excessive absences the position will be turned over with a new election.
The following officers are
elected by a simple majority of members usually at the last meeting of the
academic year:
President-
The president will work with the faculty adviser to plan all programs,
activities, financial expenditures, and preside over meetings.
Vice-President/Outreach
The vice-president will
work with the President and faculty adviser to plan all programs and
activities and is responsible for planning events for the Elementary
Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools and WSU Campus outreach programs. .
The Vice President will take the place of the President in his/her absence.
NuTS Mentoring Leader
(Responsibilities to be defined and inserted into the constitution at a
later date. For 2009-2010, Alex Bond will be the NuTS Mentoring Leader.
In subsequent years, the position will be
decided with election by a simple majority similarly to the other officer
positions.)
Communications Officer-
The
Communication Officer will be responsible for communicating and advertising
events to members as well as to the WSU student body. At
meetings, the CO will be responsible for taking minutes.
Treasurer-
The Treasurer will be responsible for collecting and depositing all membership
dues and other income with the WSU Controller's Office, request
reimbursement checks for club expenses incurred by members and invited
guests, and keep
accurate accounting of club finances.
The treasurer will also be responsible for fundraisers.
Parliamentary Procedures
Revision of the
Constitution and/or addition of amendments are approved by a ¾ majority of
the current full membership.
