  VCAPP Library Award Winners:

Paul Johnson and Robert Speth, Ph.D. are Honored by Libraries

Flanked (in the background) by a few of the anatomy specimens he has prepared, VCAPP Instructional laboratory Supervisor, Paul Johnson (center left), accepts the Science Library Service Award from Cindy Kaag, Head, Science Libraries, and Vicki Croft, Head, Health Sciences Library.

Award Winners

VCAPP personnel have received the last two WSU Library Awards, presented in 2002 to Paul (P.J.) Johnson and in June 2003 to departing VCAPP Faculty Member Robert (Bob) Speth.

Paul was presented the library award for outstanding, long-term contribution to the Science Library. According to librarian Vicki Croft who announced the award, since 1987, Paul has used a freeze-drying process to help library faculty and staff salvage numerous water-damaged books and journals from WSU libraries. In September of 2001, Paul was also honored as one of the "employee of the year" recipients in the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine.

Bob was honored with the recognition at a ceremony June 16, 2003, in the Worthman Museum.  Again, librarian Vicki Croft, Bob Speth is another "friend to the library" and they thank him for helping keep the importance of the library alive.
