Call for Nomination of
Distinguished Graduate Alumni

 

Every two years, the VCAPP and Neuroscience faculty select a past graduate (Vet Science or Neuroscience) to receive the Washington State University Department of VCAPP Distinguished Graduate Alumni Award.  The winner is invited to Pullman to accept the award, give a seminar during the Fall VCAPP seminar series, and to meet with the current graduate and undergraduate students and faculty.

 

The award includes:

  • All expense paid round trip to Pullman
  • $300 honorarium
  • VCAPP Seminar Series Guest Lecture (with small reception before or after seminar)
  • Lunch or reception with students
  • Recipient’s name placed on a perpetual plaque

Eligibility:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, service, or the profession
  • Graduated with an advanced degree from WSU Department of VCAPP at least 10 years ago (Veterinary Science or Neuroscience)

Nomination Process:

  • Nominations due by June 1
  • A letter of recommendation from a member of the Neuroscience or Veterinary Science Graduate Faculty.
  • Nominator must arrange for two additional letters of recommendation from a source outside WSU.
  • Additional supporting information accepted.
  • Re-nominations are encouraged.
  • Selection occurs in August.  Award is presented during the fall VCAPP seminar series.
  • Selection committee is elected by the graduate faculty (currently, the Neuroscience/Vet Science Policy Committee).
