  Neuroscience Ambassadors

The Program in Neuroscience Student Ambassadors is a student leadership organization that encourages students to pursue higher education and serves as a liaison between the Neuroscience Program and the greater community.

The goals of the program are:

1.     To recruit high school and community college students into the Neuroscience Program, provide information about WSU, and encourage prospective students to pursue higher education.

2.       To increase visibility and awareness of the Ambassadors within the College of Veterinary Medicine and on the University campus.

3.     To broaden prospective student knowledge of what WSU and the Program in Neuroscience can offer to varied individuals with unique interests and needs.

The Ambassador’s objectives for the current year include:

1.      Visit at least six (6) high schools and two (2) community colleges, participate in College of Veterinary Medicine events and WSU functions such as Preview, Pre-Vet Day, Future Cougar Day, and Transfer Registration Day, plus, welcome prospective students who visit campus.

2.      Have one main retreat/training session each semester and social functions throughout the year.

3.      Inform others about the Ambassadors through press releases, wearing of jerseys and representing the Ambassadors proudly.

4.      Throughout the year have guest speakers, go on tours, provide outreach into the greater Eastern Washington community, and develop other ways to increase knowledge about the Program in Neuroscience and WSU.

Neuroscience Ambassadors are eligible to receive one (1) credit of Neuro 499 (graded S/F).
