WSU-UI Science Retreat 2004

The retreat presenters were articulate and entertaining, as well as knowledgeable.  There was much to learn and much to experience (click photo to enlarge). (return to main Retreat page)

Steve Simasko welcomed participants...

and led the audience into the retreat.

Bob and Sue Ritter presented the Plenary Session....

"Control of Food Intake: Why Bother?"

The Ritters taught with authority, wisdom, and...

with humor.

David Rector led the presentation....

wherein "Mammalian Neurogenesis" was put on trial.

Evidence was presented...

Displays proved the points...

And sometimes left juries in the dark. Who won?

Session I.

A Panel Discussion on Chronobiology.

Jim Krueger's views on Chronobiology.

Heiko Jansen....

served as a chronobiology panelist.

David Lin shared his opinions.

In Session II, Kathy Magnusson moderated...

Mike Laskowski was "the good"...

And he looked the part in the second session.

Deb Stenkamp did her part.

and Mark DeSantis also helped with the "Good, the Bad and the Ugly" of Nervous System response to injury (Session II).

Audience reacted with appreciation to presenters....

Who continued the teaching....

and who continued the sharing...

of their science.

Data Blitz gave presenters one minute to share the knowledge...

of their research on only one slide,

which made for some fast talking.
