Technical Systems offers two basic ways to read
your email:
Microsoft Outlook:
To use Outlook, you
must have Microsoft Office 97 or above installed on the computer you wish
to read your email on. Outlook uses a graphical interface and has
many options including a built in calendar and other time management
programs. You can also use our
Web Version of
Outlook if you want to read your email off campus.
Outlook Web Access
go to http://mail.vetmed.wsu.edu/
Pine is no longer available:
Pine uses a text based
interface to browse and read your email. Pine is accessed by logging
into UNIX and reading your email from there. Because of this,
users may have difficulties with files attached to the message.
You can use Pine from any computer that has internet access and a telnet
program. A quick way to check your pine email on any Windows
95/98/NT computer:
1. Click the "Start" button
2. Go to "Run..."
3. Type "telnet vetmed.wsu.edu". Click OK.
4. You should have a UNIX window open at this time. If not, you may
have network problems, or do not have the telnet program installed.
These two options are flexible and can be adjusted
to most user preferences. Please contact VIS at 335-0101 if you have
any questions about your email. |
