Feline Cardiac Genetics Research

Submitting Study Participants’ DNA for Research

Pre-Approved study participants will first submit all related paperwork. Copies of formal documents are acceptable (echos, holter readings, pedigrees, etc).

DNA is unable to be used in our study unless we have the required documentation for that DNA.

After paperwork has been received, the approved study participant will submit DNA via blood draw. This blood draw done is done by the participant’s local Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician. We supply a special blood buffer with instructions that must be used at the time the blood is drawn. This blood buffer acts as a type of preservative and is an important step in submitting the blood for our research.

If you have a cat that meets the requirements of one of our studies, please contact us with all the relevant information about your cat as it pertains to our study requirements.
