Aquatic Health

The Aquatic Health Section of WADDL provides health screening and diagnostic testing for marine and fresh water fish, including ornamental species. WADDL is accredited by the AAVLD and the Aquatic Health Section is USDA approved for testing live fish products for export. AFS and Canadian Health Inspectors on staff are available to assist with testing for interstate and international movement of live fish products.

Aquatic Health Inspection Testing

Aquatic animal health testing is performed in accordance with the guidelines outlined in both the OIE Manual of Diagnostic Tests for Aquatic Animals and the AFS-USFWS Blue Book.

Turn around time for all health inspections is 29 days based on the requirements set forth in both manuals for virology testing.

Two to four weeks advanced notice for scheduling purposes is strongly recommended on all health inspection samplings
