Santa Really DOES Come Down the Chimney!

Santa is a male kestrel who was found in the soot of a fireplace into which he flew or fell.

He was thoroughly drenched in soot and somewhat debilitated by his fall, but he did not sustain any serious injuries.

He was admitted to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital on December 8, was treated for his injuries, and is now ready to be released.

Santa has been banded with a Federal Fish & Wildlife Service band. If he has anymore incidents involving a chimney, or any other accidents, the band will enable the finder to track his history.
