Biography:
I grew up in Bremerton, WA and did running start during high
school. I actually got my associates in arts and science before I graduated from
high school! I came to WSU and it took me three years to complete the
undergraduate Neuroscience program, but during my last year I started my
graduate work early.
Undergraduate Education:
B.S., Washington State University (Neuroscience).
A.A.S., Olympic College.
Current research topic:
My thesis will utilize optogenetics to specially
activate glial cells and characterize changes in state oscillations and gene
expression that we can hopefully relate back to whole animal sleep. We call it
“sleep-in-a-dish”.
