About Tyler
Biography:
I was born and raised in Elk, Wa where my family (dad, mom, brother) live
out in the boondocks. I enjoy doing things with my family like skiing,
fishing (especially bow fishing), camping, and boating. My brother and I
enjoy seeing movies at the movie theatre and going rock climbing. I like to
play soccer and basketball and the occasional volleyball game.
Undergraduate Education:
Whitworth University 2012
B.S. in Chemistry (Biochemistry Track)
Minor in Biology
Current research topic:
I am interested in the degeneration of neurons in diseased states and the
possibility of regenerating these neurons via neurogenesis in the peripheral
nervous system. I am also interested in studying the various aspects of
synaptic plasticity.
Other Interests:
Tyler has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and enjoys helping
high schoolers learn more about Him in his church youth group. He also
plays guitar for his church’s worship team.
