2003
Residency: Washington State University,
2003 - 2006
After graduation Tom spent 3 years in private practice, primarily as a
racetrack practitioner in Calgary Alberta at Moore and Company Veterinary
Services. During this time he developed a keen interest in diagnostic
imaging, performing radiography, ultrasound and nuclear medicine studies.
Tom then completed a three year residency program at Washington State
University. After completion of his residency Tom went back to Western Canada,
working in private practice for Moore and Company Veterinary Services in the
equine field as well as Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre in
the small animal field. After three years Tom returned to Washington State
University to become a member of the radiology faculty. Prior to his history as
a veterinarian Tom was a groom/trainer of thoroughbred racehorses, spanning from
the early 1980’s through the late 1990’s. This history drove his vested interest
that drove his participation in a two year study of racehorse injuries in the
thoroughbred racehorse during his residency at WSU.
