Always a faithful and enthusiastic hunting partner, Abby and I chased pheasants and quail all over the state of Washington.  I shall never forget the look of exasperation she would give me after coming out of the brush from flushing a bird, as if to say, "Hey!...I'm working my tail off over here.. can't you hit anything?".  I have had the honor of hunting behind some very stylish and talented bird dogs and Abby was one of the best.
