  Soffie

I took Soffie everywhere with me whenever I could. How she loved to travel! She told me it was a great dane trait. This picture was taken at Neah Bay and I don't think there was any area she didn't explore! She paid no attention to those "Stay on the trail markers"- after all, she was a dane. Danes don't do that! Even when we went to the ocean Soffie was no stranger to water. She fetched wood and mastered those waves like she'd been doing it all of her life...that is, until the waves started coming in faster and faster; how she high tailed it out of the ocean while her masters stayed in! She is sadly missed and the joy she brought into my life one day will be stronger than the grief that is so heartfelt even now as I write about her. She died in our arms, at home, where she wanted to be.
