How to Use This Site
If you are in junior high or high school and just beginning to evaluate
veterinary medicine as a possible career choice, select the
Junior & High
School Students link and read the section on
Getting Ready. Next
explore the
Pre Veterinary Preparation section for more specific details about
the classes you should take in high school and in college, the types of majors
that you might pursue and working with a pre-vet advisor. Check out the resource
section (careers)to get an overview of the types of jobs that veterinarians
perform.
If you have graduated from high school the sections of
Pre Veterinary
Preparation and
Applying & Admissions
provide more detailed information to help you prepare to apply to veterinary
school including pre requisite courses to take, getting veterinary experience &
exposure, details of the veterinary curriculum, expected academic standards and
pre-veterinary programs in which you can meet the course requirements.
Prospective applicants will also want to explore the admissions pages which
provide details about the admissions process including all requirements,
criteria used to select candidates, statistics about the most recently selected
class of veterinary students and links to online admissions forms.
All interested students are encouraged to read the FAQ's and explore the
Resources section.
