Veterinary Teaching Hospital


WSU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital is one of the newest and finest equipped facilities of its type in the world. The WSU veterinary hospital provides full service to the general public's animals, attracting some 15,000 animal patients per year. The hospital provides more than two acres of assignable space. Equipment costs were nearly $10 million and include state-of-the-art technology such as a CT scan, nuclear medicine, laser surgery, video endoscopy, ultrasound, a linear accelerator for treating cancer, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

The Animal Disease Biotechnology Facility (ADBF) has provided critically needed space for units of the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Field Disease Investigative Unit, and USDA-ARS-Animal Disease Research Unit.

The ADBF houses existing, state of the art, internationally recognized, animal infectious disease programs investigating lentiviral infections, spongiform encephalopathies, vaccine development, food safety, mycobacterial infections, hemoparasitic diseases, and other significant and important diseases.
