Read
the following dialogue between Jeff, a veterinarian, and Monica. Monica came to the clinic
|
| Jeff: Monica: |
Hi Monica, what 's wrong with Tito? Well, he's been very strange these days. He isn't eating as usual. He's been very picky with the food and even this morning he vomited his breakfast. He used to be very active and playful but now he just wants to sleep all day. I think he has a fever too becuase he was trembling when I put him in his cage to bring him here.
|
| Jeff: Monica: |
Let's see. How old is
he? He is now five years old. |
| Jeff: Monica: |
Has he had this problem
before? Not that I remember. He has always eaten very well. |
| Jeff: Monica: |
What did you give him to
eat? Oh! He only eats chicken and his favorite nuggets with milk. But now he is eating only chicken breast without the skin.
|
| Jeff: Monica: |
Has he eaten anything
unusual? No. Well, the other day my husband found some feathers in Tito's bed. He thinks that Tito hunted a bird and ate it. but we are not sure because he is a very bad hunter and is getting very old. |
| Jeff: Monica: |
Did the problem start after
your husband found the feathers? Yes, about two or three days later. |
| Jeff: Monica: |
Have you noticed any other
changes in Tito's habits or behavior? Thank heavens, no!! We miss him playing with Mickey Mouse in the evenings when we watch TV. |
| Jeff: | O.K. Monica. I am going to do a physical examination and take his temperature. after that I'll be able to decide what tests to perform in order to find out what the problem is. |
