Expression
FCRL4 is expressed in the perofollicular are of tonsil tissue, site rich in memory B cells.  Low levels of expression were detected in spleen and lymph node but there is no expression in other tissues or lymphocyte cell lines tested.

Structure
MOLECULAR FAMILY NAME: Belongs to the immunoglobulin gene family.

FCRL4 is a 515 aa glycoprotein.  It contains a signal sequence, an extracellular domain which contains 4 Ig-type domains and 3 potential N-linked glycosylation sites, a 16 aa transmembrane domain and an 106 aa cytoplasmic domain which contains 3 putative consensus SH2-binding domains having ITIMs and ITAMs.

MOLECULAR MASS

POST-TRANSCRIPTIONAL MODIFICATION

Alternative splicing yields 7 different isoforms ( named IRTA1 and IRTA2)

POST-TRANSLATIONAL MODIFICATION

FCRL4 has 3 potential N-linked glycosylation sites.
