Type 1 glycoprotein
|VSIG2 is highly expressed in stomach, colon, prostate, trachea and thyroid glands and weakly in bladder and lung.|
|MOLECULAR FAMILY NAME: Belongs to the immunoglobulin gene family.|
VSIG2 is a single-pass type-1 325 aa glycoprotein. It contains a signal sequence, an extracellular domain which contains 1 Ig-like C2-type domain, 1 Ig-like V-type domain and multiple N-linked glycosylation sites, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic domain which has phosphorylation sites.
Alternative splicing yields 2 different isoforms.
VSIG2 has multiple N-linked glycosylation sites.
