We will not discuss the function of the thyroid and parathyroid until the end of the semester. However, both of these endocrine glands consist of a simple cuboidal epithelium. Remember, glands within the body are simply modified invaginations of the epithelium, either from the skin or the tubular organs. How do endocrine and exocrine glands differ?
