Clinical Simulation Center
Labs at the WSU Clinical Simulation Center
Students, residents, and veterinarians have the chance to learn new skills and polish skills they already possess. Additionally, our labs utilize simulation to help teach the value and importance of teamwork and effective communication techniques.
Select examples of labs and simulations offered include:

Clinical Skills Laboratory
A voluntary, semi-structured learning environment guided by trained peer teaching assistants to develop and enhance surgical and diagnostic skills.

Anesthesia Simulation Activities
Second- to fourth-year students participate in increasingly complex simulated anesthesia scenarios in preparation for anesthetizing live animals.

Equine Simulation Case
From equine colic to learning how to safely move a downed horse.

Small Animal Cases
Ranging from CPR response drills to advance simulation in an emergency or operating room.

Diagnostic Skills Training
Using medical devices such as ultrasound and endoscopy, students develop life-saving diagnostic skills.
