Interim Dean Mealey addresses faculty and staff

- Oct 10, 2019

Dear faculty and staff,

Robert H. MealeyAs Interim Dean, I will do my best to make this transition as smooth as possible and maintain an environment of openness while sustaining our current goals. After the flurry of information this morning I first want to thank you for your patience as we move through this transition.

In the coming weeks I will be holding department and team meetings to provide opportunities for us to get to know each other better and establish key priorities for the coming months.

As stated in Provost Slinker’s email this morning, the dean search is on track and the search firm is committed to the timeline of a December hire.

In my temporary absence from VMP, Doug Jasmer, Kelly Brayton, and Anthony Nicola will be serving as consecutive interim chairs. Rest assured, I am not a candidate for the permanent dean position and look forward to returning to the VMP chair position.

During this early part of the transition you can find me in my current office in Bustad 402C.

I am honored to serve as Interim Dean and look forward to working with all of you to continue our path forward and build all of your hard work for the success of the College of Veterinary Medicine. I will be relying on the department chairs, school directors, faculty, and our outstanding administrative staff to ensure this is a successful time for the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Sincerely,

Bob Mealey
